Did ‘rogue killers’ get Saudi writer?

Rupee hits 74 level to the dollar as crude oil approaches $82 mark again

The Middle East Institute, a leading Washington, D.C., think tank, said Monday that it will stop accepting donations from Saudi Arabia pending the investigation into the disappearance and suspected murder of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi at a Saudi consulate.

On Monday afternoon, another scenario emerged: CNN reported that Saudi Arabia is preparing to say that Khashoggi was killed in an interrogation "that went wrong" and that he was supposed to be abducted instead.

Trump said Monday that he had spoken to Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for about 20 minutes that morning and that he has denied any knowledge of Khashoggi's disappearance.

"His denial to me could not have been stronger", Trump told reporters, referring to the king. "It sounded to me like maybe these could have been rogue killers. This is very important to get to the bottom of it", Trump said.

"Answers will be forthcoming shortly", Trump added.

Turkish officials say they believe Saudi agents killed and dismembered Khashoggi and say Turkey has audio and video recordings of it. Saudi Arabia has called the allegations "baseless" but has offered no evidence the writer left the consulate.

The Foreign Office spokesman responding to a query about Pakistan's stance on the issue said "we understand that the investigation was ongoing and it would therefore be appropriate to await the outcome".

USA resident and Washington Post contributor Khashoggi vanished two weeks ago while visiting the Saudi consulate in Istanbul.

Los Angeles Dodgers win Game 2 in comeback fashion
Game 2 is Saturday at Miller Park, with Wade Miley pitching for the Brewers against Hyun-Jin Ryu. "The errors affected the game". He was co-MVP of the NLCS past year with Taylor when Los Angeles made it to the World Series for the first time since 1988.

"The government of Saudi Arabia owes the Khashoggi family and the world a full and honest explanation of everything that happened to him", Fred Ryan, publisher and CEO of The Washington Post, said in a statement Tuesday.

Either a family friend, a Saudi-owned company or the state's sovereign wealth fund could bid for the Glazer family's private shares in the club valued at nearly £3billion, the report said.

After gathering information from the Turks and the joint team, "the feeling from the leadership was we needed an internal investigation to make sure we're getting the right story here", the Saudi official said.

The forum will be held on October 23-25 and hosted by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund.

Saudi Arabia has pledged to economically retaliate for any USA punitive action. "Bangladesh welcomes Saudi Arabia's proposal to form a joint working group with Turkey to investigate the incident". Reports have suggested that Prince Mohammed ordered Saudi officials to bring Khashoggi back to the country but during the attempt the journalist was killed.

Google said in a statement that Google Cloud Chief Executive Diane Greene would not attend the Future Investment Initiative Summit scheduled to be held in Riyadh starting October 23.

Talking during his first presidential debate with Hillary Clinton who hacked the Democratic National Committee, Trump famously said: "I mean, it could be Russian Federation, but it could also be China".

Turkish police officers enter the Saudi Arabia's Consulate in Istanbul.
