Still No Clues After 5 Days Of Searching For Jayme Closs

On Tuesday, Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald said a dispatcher received a call from a mobile phone and heard a disturbance in the background, but no-one spoke to them directly.

Investigators have been searching for 13-year-old Jayme Closs since deputies responding to a 911 call early Monday found her parents dead in their home in Barron.

The sheriff demanded that the news media not "hound" the School District, and he said he was holding a town hall on Wednesday evening to communicate further with Barron County residents.

Police are still looking for information, days after a teen went missing in the wake of a shooting that took the lives of her parents in their Wisconsin home. The sheriff's office said in a Facebook post that "nothing of evidentiary value" was found, though they have received more than 800 tips, CNN reports.

For the third straight day Wednesday, Oct. 17, local law enforcement and the Federal Bureau of Investigation were searching for the teen.

Police later identified the deceased as Jayme's parents: James Closs, 56, and Denise Closs, 46.

FacebookJayme Closs, a 13-year-old girl from Barron, Wisconsin, is missing. The deaths of James and Denise Closs, who had suffered gunshot wounds, were ruled homicides on Wednesday, Fitzgerald said. Her disappearance prompted a nationwide amber alert.

Fitzgerald said additional agencies, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, are involved.

"While I'm going thru our family pictures, worrying sick about you wishing we could trade places just to get you home and out of harms way", Seara Closs wrote.

One of those behind the effort, Michelle Saffert, said he children and Jayme "have spent a lot of time growing up".

'I'm telling you, Jayme is missing and endangered, ' Fitzgerald said.

"Our thoughts are with the Closs family and the entire Barron community", said a statement from Jennie-O Turkey Store officials.

Fitzgerald said he doesn't believe the young girl, who was last seen at a family gathering for her cousin's birthday on October 13, ran away from home, though he didn't specify why. The 911 call, which is being analyzed, lasted 45 seconds to a minute, sources told FOX9.

He emphasized that people should use the tip line at 1-855-744-3879 if they have any information regarding the case.
