‘Red Dead Redemption 2’ Earns Record-Breaking $725 Million Opening Weekend

‘Red Dead Redemption 2’ Earns Record-Breaking $725 Million Opening Weekend

That's exactly what it's had though, according to Rockstar.

As no strangers to ridiculous record-breaking launches, Rockstar Games has proudly revealed that Red Dead Redemption 2 has enjoyed the biggest opening weekend in retail entertainment history, among a bunch of other accolades.

It hasn't, however, bested GTA V's overall launch.

So, Rockstar might move faster than it did with Grand Theft Auto V, which eventually came to the PC after its console release.

Four Jacksonville Jaguars Players Arrested Before Game In London
Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Donte Moncrief wasn't able to fly to London with the team after a passport issue. The teams says "we are aware that four of our players were detained over restitution of a bill".

Red Dead Redemption has also achieved the most Preorders in PlayStation network History, biggest day one full game sales ever on PlayStation Network and the biggest first three days full game sales ever on PlayStation Network.

Told across the deepest and most expansive Rockstar world to date, Red Dead Redemption 2 is Rockstar's first game built from the ground up for new generation hardware, and seamlessly blends gameplay and storytelling in a completely new way to deliver the experience of living as an outlaw in a notorious gang.

Even more impressive is that Red Dead Redemption 2 is now a console only release, with PC gamers completely left in the dark as to if and when it will be released on the platform, which would again boost sales.

Red Dead Redemption 2 was destined to sell a ton of copies. That said, hopefully the fantastic sales end up not just enriching the Housers and parent company Take Two, but also the people whose blood, sweat and tears went into making the game.
