Google's interest-focused Discover feed launches on mobile web

The addition of Google Discover to the search engine's mobile website is the latest step in its evolution to predict what kinds of information users seek and to keep them in the Google ecosystem longer. They are available on any mobile browser, including Safari on iOS and Chrome on Android. Now you will also see the new "Google Discover" feed that was announced by the company nearly a month ago.

The Google homepage, well-known for a sparse layout that spotlightt the Google logo search box, is getting one of its most significant revamps meant to make it easier to explore areas of interest. One of the features, an improved version of the Google Feed, which from now on will be called Discover, has just started rolling out in the USA on mobile devices that run either iOS or Android.

On the other hand, the mobile web version features a feed of cards which appear below the search bar, like in the Google app on Android and iOS. Well, you can turn it off on your mobile browser by going to the menu bar and then clicking on settings and then Discover and then Don't show on homepage.

Cards feature a cover image, title, and brief summary, as well as the site name and published date.

Of course, if you don't want to see updates on certain topics, you can always tap the control icon at the bottom right corner of each card and choose whether you want to see "More" or "Less" about the subject in question.

Game of Thrones Prequel Casts Naomi Watts in Mystery Role
Screenwriter and producer Jane Goldman is the prequel's showrunner and she worked for the project with author George R.R. While fans await the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones , the first prequel series' first star has been found.

A screenshot of the Google Discover page on mobile. You won't have to deal with cards showing up every time simply because you found a subject interesting once.

Google also introduced Topic Layer, which analyzes content on the web for a specific topic and develops subtopics around it.

Shopping is a big possible use case for this functionality, while Google notes that websites owners will benefit from another way to get content discovered. For example, if you're learning to play the piano, Discover might show you content for beginners.

As Google marks our 20th anniversary, I wanted to share a first look at the next chapter of Search, and how we're working to make information more accessible and useful for people everywhere.
