Google’s Doodle for Halloween is a surprisingly fun multiplayer game

Google Doodle

It's nice to go to Google, intending to search the answer to a simple question, like 'is Central America part of North America or South America?' and get distracted by one of their 'doodles, ' maybe learning something interesting in the process and returning to your original quest. Or you can just team up with random strangers.

It debuted its first Halloween-themed game in 2016 with Magic Cat Academy where players traced shapes to cast spells and defeat enemies, but The Great Ghoul Duel is a lot more complex by comparison.

As if we haven't already wasted enough time on the internet this month looking for Halloween costumes and figuring out which bars and restaurants have the best specials, Google is now tempting us with a new online game within its latest Doodle. Bring them to your base to collect bonuses such as a speed boost.

'The team built several systems to enable this multiplayer gaming, all running on the Google Cloud Platform, including integrating Open Match, a highly-scalable, open source matchmaking framework cofounded by Google Cloud and Unity, ' the tech giant said in a blog post.

Rashid Spins England To T20 Win
The target was imposing enough by itself, with only one greater total having been successfully chased at Khettarama. The England squad have been urged to exercise caution following a change in the political situation in Sri Lanka .

Playing the Great Ghoul Duel feels like a cross between slither.io and Capture the Flag: your ghostly duty is to roam around the map and collect little glowing Spirit Flames.

The more you get, the longer the chain-link gets.

The points are only counted when you deposit the collected flames at your base. You can play it in your browser with mouse or keyboard controls, and it also works fine on mobile devices.

Google Doodles are traditionally small illustrations or animations that appear in the Google logo on the search engine's homepage.
