Amazon is giving everyone free shipping on everything for the holidays

Amazon will offer free shipping on holiday purchases

Shoppers who aren't Prime members will get slower shipping, though, which can take five to eight days. Target dropped its $35 minimum for free two-day shipping during the holidays.

Today Amazon announced that they are offering free shipping to everyone in the United States with no minimum purchase needed.

With the all-important holiday season kicking off around Thanksgiving later this month, retailers are jockeying for customers' dollars and hoping to outpace Amazon, which takes up almost 50 cents of each dollar spent online in the US.

Amazon is offering free shipping for all customers for a limited time this holiday, starting November 5.

US online retail sales in November and December will rise 14.8 percent, to $124 billion, software maker Adobe said last week in a forecast based on data from 80 of the 100 largest online retailers.

As to what kind of drink it was, Bergen quipped: "All I know is it's got a lot going on, but it still gets the job done". Grande and Davidson had a whirlwind romance that included matching tattoos and an engagement .

The move makes hundreds of millions of items eligible for free shipping.

Amazon is looking to boost holiday sales and add new prime members. Analysts estimated that Amazon took almost half of all online retail sales in 2017, and that it will account for even more this year.

The offer applies to "hundreds of millions of items", Amazon said, describing the perk as "the largest free shipping selection in the country". During the fourth quarter of 2017, the company spent a record $7.3 billion getting packages to customers.

Amazon has found another way to entice holiday shoppers this season: free shipping to everyone, including non-Prime members. The spokeswoman said the company expects to announce that cutoff date later, after assessing customer demand and its logistics network.

Amazon also points out the extra advantages Prime subscribers get, including free Same-Day delivery on over three million products, as well as "in as little as an hour" deliveries and one hour grocery delivery or pickups in 60 cities.
