Mac Miller's Cause of Death Listed as Fentanyl & Cocaine Overdose

Mac Miller's cause of death has been revealed.

LOS ANGELES Mac Miller died from an accidental overdose due to a combination of alcohol and drugs, including fentanyl, a coroner's report released today said. The coroner ruled that the overdose caused by "mixed drug toxicity" was accidental. It is being reported that the mix of all three drugs, not the amount of each, triggered his cardiac arrest.

According to the report (via TMZ), Mac's assistant found him unresponsive on his bed in a "praying position", kneeling forward with his face resting on his knees.

The autopsy also revealed pulmonary edema (fluid buildup in lungs), and froth of the upper airways, as well as an abrasion on the nose with blood of the right nostril. He was found in his bedroom in the San Fernando Valley around 12 PM. Officials pronounced him dead at the scene.

Los Angeles County coroner's spokeswoman Sarah Ardalani said on September 10, 2018, that investigators have performed the autopsy and released the Miller's body to the family.

Meanwhile, an empty bottle of alcohol was near his body on a nightstand, with a bottle of prescription pills in the bathroom.

A sweep of Miller's home also found Xanax, Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, and generic Adderall.

The rapper, whose real name was Malcolm James Myers McCormick, was generally healthy otherwise, the report stated. Performers at a tribute concert for him last week included Chance the Rapper, Travis Scott and John Mayer.
