Supreme Court ends legal fight over Obama-era net neutrality rules

U.S. Supreme Court Rejects Net Neutrality Appeals After Year DelayMore

AT&T and other telecoms had asked the high court to void the ruling; the Federal Communications Commission repealed net neutrality past year. Roberts owned stock in AT&T-owned Time Warner, while Kavanaugh took part in the case when he was a judge on the DC Circuit appeals court, Bloomberg Supreme Court Reporter Greg Stohr noted.

In doing so, government lawyers sought to bypass federal appeals courts that have yet to rule definitively on the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.

There was no initial timetable from the justices on when they would decide whether to grant the Trump administration's latest petition. It means that the D.C. Circuit's court's 2016 decision to uphold "both the FCC's classification of broadband as a telecommunications service, and its rules prohibiting broadband providers from blocking or degrading Internet content, remains in place", senior counsel John Bergmayer of consumer advocacy group Public Knowledge said. If you watched as the FCC repealed net neutrality using little more than lobbyist fluff and nonsense, it should be fairly obvious to you that wasn't true.

"The Supreme Court's decision is push-back against FCC Chairman Pai's effort to get rid of net neutrality".

Ariana Grande's new song references exes Davidson, Miller
Davidson went on to describe Grande as a " wonderful, strong person " and wished her all the happiness in the world. After pouring her heart out through song, Ariana feels "empowered", Frankie added.

The new FCC rules went into effect in June.

The case has been before the ninth circuit in San Francisco for six months and the court takes an average of 23 months to issue a final ruling. They give internet service providers greater power to regulate the content that customers access, are now the subject of a separate legal fight after being challenged by numerous groups that backed net neutrality.

The legality of the separate DACA program for undocumented immigrant youths had never been tested in court (although an expansion of that program fell with the court rulings against the program for undocumented parents). The change fits with the deregulatory stance of the Trump administration. The trial judge refused to rule on that challenge, concluding that the states had waited too long to challenge the original DACA program. Then last September, he announced that DACA would end six months later unless Congress replaced Obama's executive action with legislation. Instead, lower courts are examining how the government chose to wind it down. Those are the orders that the Administration has now asked the Justices to overturn. The Supreme Court essentially found that the rollback rendered any appeals moot. His work has appeared here since mid-2011.
