Audio recordings related to Khashoggi's killing shared with Saudi, other officials: Erdogan

Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in London on March 7

Turkey says it has shared recordings related to the murder of the journalist and writer Jamal Khashoggi with the USA, the UK, Saudis and others.

Meanwhile, the reporter's sons have issued desperate pleas to find their father's body so that they can give him a proper burial and receive closure.

Media reports have suggested that Khashoggi's body, which has not been found, could have been chemically dissolved. Hatice Cengiz tweeted, according to the New York Post.

Erdogan said the killer, or killers, would be known to the 18 suspects identified by Turkish authorities - including 15 men who arrived from Saudi Arabia shortly before Khashoggi's death.

Erdogan's comments on Saturday were the first public confirmation of the existence of recordings of the October 2 killing of The Washington Post columnist at the consulate where he had gone to get papers to marry his fiancee.

Mohammed Bin Salman (MbS) and Saudi Arabia have changed their official position on what happened to the journalist in the face of worldwide pressure.

Another fire northwest of Los Angeles has been swept southward toward the ocean by strong Santa Ana winds . About 900 evacuees fleeing the Woolsey fire checked had checked into the evacuation center by 8:30 a.m.

On Monday, a Turkish official said Saudi Arabia sent a two-man "clean-up team" to erase evidence of Khashoggi's murder a week after he disappeared at the Saudi consulate.

"There's no need to distort this issue, they know for certain that the killer, or the killers, is among these 15 people".

Saudi Arabia initially attempted to cover up the killing by insisting that Khashoggi had left the consulate. Yet some of those implicated in the killing are close to the crown prince, including a member of the prince's entourage on foreign trips who was seen at the consulate before Khashoggi's slaying.

Following a meeting on Saturday in Paris, US President Donald Trump and French leader Emmanuel Macron agreed that the Saudi authorities needed to shed full light on Khashoggi's murder, a French presidency source said.

Mr Erdogan accused Saudi Arabia's chief prosecutor, who was sent to Istanbul last month as part of a joint probe, of employing "delaying tactics".
