SNL's Pete Davidson apologises to Republican politician

Davidson told Crenshaw he was sorry for mocking the former Navy SEAL's eyepatch, which he wears due to an injury received when an IED went off, killing his translator and destroying his eye, during his third combat tour in Afghanistan. Dan Crenshaw, and on behalf of the show and myself, I apologize.

Pete Davidson admitted during the Saturday, November 10, episode of Saturday Night Live to making a poor choice the week prior and he made amends.

"Oh do you know her?" asked Crenshaw.

Republicans and veterans groups quickly condemned the joke, with Crenshaw saying: "What passes for humor these days is not what used to pass for humor and that's the big tragedy in all of this". The veteran then trolled Davidson by letting his Ariana Grande ringtone play, something the singer's ex-fiancé seemed genuinely surprised to witness.

Apparently, the Powers That Be at SNL agreed with Crenshaw, because Davidson came out during Weekend Update last night and apologized.

Father confirms son, 22, was among Thousand Oaks shooting victims
Kelly, 22, said he was dancing with friends at a bar in suburban Los Angeles on Wednesday night when the bullets began flying. The mother of one of the Las Vegas shooting survivors who tragically died in the Thousand Oaks shooting is speaking out.

Crenshaw then was able to poke fun at Davidson's appearance. Not just that the left and right can still agree on some things, but also this. "He looks like if the meth from Breaking Bad was a person", he joked of the SNL star's bleached-hair visage.

"This is Veterans Day weekend".

He apologized directly to Crenshaw, who said they were good and the apology was accepted.

Then Crensaw urged all Americans, as Veterans' Day nears, to "never forget". "Maybe say, 'thanks for your service, ' but I would actually encourage you to say something else".

The two men shook hands and said "never forget" to each other. "Not separated by some imaginary barrier between civilians and veterans, but connected together as grateful fellow Americans, who will never forget the sacrifices made by veterans past and present". "When you say 'never forget" to a veteran, you are implying that, as an American, you are in it with them.
