Trouble Brewing in White House as Trump Reportedly Readies to Fire Kelly

The requests languished for months as Kelly insisted there weren't enough available positions for the first lady's aides to have senior titles, these people said. It came after reports surfaced earlier Tuesday indicating Ricardel would be pushed out of her post after less than seven months on the job.

Ricardel attended a White House ceremony Tuesday with President Donald Trump celebrating Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights. A second official said Ricardel was still in the building as of about 4:00 p.m.in Washington.

First lady Melania Trump demanded the ouster of National Security Adviser John Bolton's top deputy, Mira Ricardel, on Tuesday as reports swirled about an imminent shakeup of President Donald Trump's administration.

Initially seen as a Trump loyalist, she has been on the defensive since she was apparently singled out for criticism by the president at a cabinet meeting in May for failing to secure USA borders.

According to USA media reports, Mrs Trump and Mrs Ricardel fell out during the first lady's trip to Africa last month and quarrelled over seating arrangements on her plane.

Nielsen, who served in President George W. Bush's administration, never overcame internal skepticism about her allegiance to Trump.

World Health Organization report cautions against antibiotics overuse worldwide
The report finds antibiotic consumption varies from 4.4 defined daily doses per 1,000 inhabitants per day to 64.4. The unregulated sales of antibiotic contribute to the overuse and misuse of these medicines.

The biggest face-off appears to be between two key power centres, Chief of Staff John Kelly and National Security Advisor John Bolton. Kimmel jokingly told his audience that Ricardel wanted Melania to sit in the middle section of the plane while the first lady "wanted to jump out of it".

Ricardel then joined the National Security Council as Bolton's deputy in April after he was named national security adviser.

The Hill reports that Ricardel's current duties include policy coordination between the NSC and the State Department, as well as the Pentagon on major policy issues.

Sources have said that Ms Trump asked her husband directly to oust Ms Ricardel after the Africa trip, where the first lady reportedly felt that she was not being given enough government resources for the tour.

"What Melania has accused this woman of is leaking, and where I would disagree with Meghan a little bit is this White House is famous for leaks, and the people that are in that White House, they still haven't gotten control of that", Huntsman said.

Stephanie Grisham declined to comment on claims about Kelly, who is based in the West Wing, insisting: 'We have a very positive working relationship'. Kelly's status is also unclear, one of the people said. The two allegedly clashed during Trump's trip to Africa. During that stint, she reportedly clashed with Mattis over a number of nominees, to the point that sources say Mattis forced her from the role.
