National Basketball Association week 4 recap: Caris LeVert injury and Jimmy Butler trade assessment

Caris LeVert

That's far better than what was feared when LeVert's leg appeared to bend in a gruesome manner after he leaped to block a shot in the final seconds of the first half of Monday night's game in Minnesota. The former MI standout was attempting to secure a chase-down block in the final seconds of the first half and, when he landed, LeVert appeared to suffer a brutal leg injury.

Caris LeVert's injury wasn't as bad as it looked.

Pilots says Boeing didn't disclose jet's new control feature
The MCAS system relies on readings from sensors on the plane, including devices that monitor how air is flowing over the wings. The brand new Boeing 737 went down just minutes after take-off from Jakarta on Monday, killing all 189 people on board.

LeVert doesn't require surgery on his dislocated right foot and is expected to return to play this season, the team announced Tuesday. He missed part of his rookie National Basketball Association season while recovering from foot surgery. Brooklyn took a chance on him early when every other team had their reservations, and LeVert was finally becoming the player they had hoped he would become this season.

LeVert was averaging 18.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.2 steals per game. In addition to LeVert's injury, Rose was on the floor past year when Boston Celtics forward Gordon Hayward dislocated his ankle against the Cleveland Cavaliers, and he was there when Paul George broke his leg during a Team USA game in 2014. He is the only player in the league this season to convert multiple game-winning baskets with less than 10 seconds remaining in regulation or overtime.
