Pedro Pascal To Star In Live-Action Star Wars Series The Mandalorian

Pedro Pascal

MMA fighter and actress Gina Carano has joined the cast of Disney+'s upcoming Star Wars TV series The Mandalorian, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Variety's article says that "Pascal's name had previously been rumoured for the role, but sources say he was one of many actors being considered".

There's no word on who Carano will be playing but it certainly appears she will have a major role in the series following the casting news about Pascal on Tuesday.

Pilots says Boeing didn't disclose jet's new control feature
The MCAS system relies on readings from sensors on the plane, including devices that monitor how air is flowing over the wings. The brand new Boeing 737 went down just minutes after take-off from Jakarta on Monday, killing all 189 people on board.

Favreau has said the series set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. Carano's role is under wraps. The Mandalorian will focus on a lone bounty hunter that is keeping out of the reach of the New Republic that was set up after the events in Return of the Jedi. Taika Waititi, Bryce Dallas Howard, Rick Famuyiwa, and Deborah Chow have also been attached to direct episodes of the series.

The Mandalorian, which is due to premiere on the new Disney streaming service known as Disney+, has an official synopsis out in the galaxy already, albeit one that leaves plenty of details still to come. I enjoyed her work in Haywire (though her voice was altered for that movie), but have found her largely lacking in films like Fast & Furious 6 and Deadpool. As far as some of the others, Disney also announced in recent days that it will produce yet another Star Wars spinoff that serves as a prequel for the character Cassian Andor, played by Diego Luna.

Production on "The Mandalorian" is expected to get underway in early 2019 with a late 2019 debut date expected on Disney+.
