"We're working to resolve the issue as soon as possible".

Users around the world reported problems with the social networking website as well as Instagram.

Several users across the globe were not able to log in, see messages and connect to the server.

It looks like Facebook and Instagram are now down for some.

After more than one hour of outages, some Australian users reported that they had regained access to the messaging service. "We are investigating the issue and working on a resolution." said the company on its developer page.

According to an outage map, New Zealand, Australia, the United Kingdom, the U.S. and many parts of Europe have been hit with the outage.

According to the website Downdetector, which measures outages of popular sites across the web, the problems started at around 1pm on Tuesday, November 20.

The issues are being experienced in the USA, Europe, and the Caribbean.
