Range Rover Evoque unveiled, on sale from $64640

Land Rover представил миниатюрную новинку

And now, Land Rover has introduced the new Range Rover Evoque and for starters, it looks like a baby Velar. It will also be available with a line-up of efficient four-cylinder diesel and petrol engines and, 12 months later, a three-cylinder plug-in hybrid engine.

To prove this point, we were offered the chance to take the new Evoque for a brief drive in some disused tunnels in East London, where a host of off-road obstacles were set up to showcase how improved the Evoque is over its predecessor. The electric module is powered by a a 11.3 kWh battery pack under the load floor with energy.

Now it is also known that the vehicle was built on the basis of an updated version of the D8 architecture.

None of the plug-in models offer two more familiar flavors of all-wheel drive, like last time.

The system uses a series of cameras to display the view immediately in front and to the side of the front wheels on the new 10-inch central digital display, giving the effect of an "invisible bonnet". A longer wheelbase yields 20 mm extra rear kneeroom and an increase in small item stowage - the larger glove box and centre cubby can now fit tablets, handbags and bottles easily, LR says.

At start, the all-new Evoque will have JLR's 2.0-litre Ingenium engines, both diesel and petrol.

The mild-hybrid powertrain harvests energy lost during deceleration and redeploys it to assist the engine when the driver accelerates, reducing fuel burn.

Tesla will cut prices in China in response to import tariffs; Reuters
The mainland is expected to report a dip in sales for the whole of 2018, the first annual decline since 1992, analysts said. China is now the largest market for an electric vehicle so it made sense that Tesla would want to tell their vehicles there.

Land Rover unveils the more sustainable 2020 Range Rover.

Climb into the cockpit and the seat bases squish with more comfort than before, and it's more obvious this is a new generation from inside than it is outside. Feature highlights include the twin touchscreen Touch Pro Duo system (featuring new, faster software), 16-way seat controls and cabin air ionisation.

Fit and finish is generally very good, and the materials - from the leather to most but not all plastics - have a feelgood squish in the First Edition mild hybrid model we're driving.

Coming to the styling, the new vehicle is easily recognisable as an Evoque, but with sleeker styling and more stylistic tie-ins with its larger sibling, the Velar. Our drive barely exceeded 10mph so it's hard to come to any conclusions on it, but we can say that we barely noticed the engine stopping and starting - something it can do at speed of up to 11mph. Land Rover claims the 1.7 megapixel camera offers double the visibility compared to a standard rear-view mirror and, from our brief drive, it is genuinely useful in low-light conditions when judging vehicles travelling behind you can be hard.

The Evoque's rearview mirror can also be transformed into a video feed at the flick of a switch, helping to improve visibility when rear occupants and/or bulky items are present by using a using a camera mounted on top of the vehicle. It's like being able to see directly through the hood to the ground and disembodied front wheels below.

It is worth noting that the designers of the Land Rover as inspiration used the Velar.
