Labour's Corbyn to Challenge May on 'Botched' Brexit Deal in Parliament

The focus is now on a campaign of the UK Prime Minister Theresa May in her effort to have her Brexit deal approved by the UK parliament.

He said: 'It will be between the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition.

But in a series of tweets he said a head-to-head between her and Mr Corbyn offered a "false choice" because neither's plans "are Brexit".

A Labour spokesperson said: "Jeremy would relish a head-to-head debate with Theresa May about her botched Brexit deal and the future of our country".

But with almost 100 Conservative MPs now saying they oppose the deal, Downing Street risked sparking outrage on the Government's own benches by inviting Labour MPs to a briefing on the deal, in the hope of winning over parliamentarians representing Brexit-voting districts.

"Exactly how it might be done, if he takes it up, would be a matter for the broadcasters to determine".

"To Theresa May I would simply say 'what are you scared of, allowing people advocating these different options to take part in the debate?'"

He also warned that under the deal the United Kingdom would have to "agree to demands on waters and quota shares" to get a future trade deal or extend the transition.

GOP Racist Cindy Hyde-Smith Wins Senate Race in Mississippi
Trump himself has also become far more engaged, calling Hyde-Smith last week to express concern about her flailing campaign. She said the " public hanging " comment was "an exaggerated expression of regard" for a fellow cattle rancher.

The prime minister still needs to convince a number of parliamentarians to back her Brexit plan in order to get it through parliament.

And the SNP's defence spokesman Stewart McDonald said his party must be included, claiming a debate between May and Corbyn "would represent the worst type of Westminster carve-up".

He added: "This deal is not a plan for Britain's future, so for the good of the nation the House has very little choice but to reject this deal".

She said: "As it now stands, the majority of people in this House will not vote in favour of the Prime Minister's deal, despite her very best efforts, so she needs Plan B".

And the DUP's Nigel Dodds said the backstop "was bad for union and bad for the economy" and greater certainty was needed over its legal application.

She said: "Nothing has been settled in terms of when the debate will take place but I think this is an important moment for our country and it is right that we treat it with the seriousness it deserves. It would be in our national interest as a bare minimum to insist on a legally binding trade deal before we part with taxpayers' hard-earned money".

"We will be able to negotiate those free trade deals, but I think every member of this House should be aware that when those trade deals are being considered there will be issues that this House will want to consider which will be nothing to do with whether or not we have a particular relationship with the European Union".

'It gives us less say over our future, and puts jobs and living standards at risk'.
