Foxconn to make high-end Apple devices in India

However, according to a report by Consumer Intelligence Research Partners, this year's most affordable iPhone variant - iPhone Xr - has lured more Android users to upgrade to iPhone than last year.

Apple launched the pricey iPhone X last year but has cut production of that phone, according to industry analysts, since it began selling the newer versions, iPhone XS and XR, globally this year.

The iPhone XR got off to a fairly strong start. The iPhone X made up 30 percent of the total US sales in its first month, and the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus accounted for 39 percent of the stateside sales combined during the same time period.

Despite worries that the iPhone XR is dragging, it seems that this model is a popular model for Android users to switch to.

Actor Kevin Spacey charged with indecent assault on teen in MA
His character is shown killed offscreen, something that the actor also alluded to in his video. He has not been out in public since and was written off the final season of House of Cards .

This year's top-tier iPhone XS and XS Max models, which start at $999 and top out at a whopping $1,449, meanwhile took a 35 percent share of the iPhone market in the month following the cheaper XR's release. The combined sales of the more expensive iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max accounted for 35 percent of the USA sales. In November, this just-launched model made up 30 percent of Apple's USA sales, slightly higher than the iPhone X in Nov. 2017.

CIRP's co-founder Mike Levin said, "Of course, Apple doesn't just state plainly its launch strategy".

However, the stats indicated by the CIRP's report can not be used for concluding the success of iPhone Xr as this year Apple released its cheaper iPhone variant after its pricier models which is contrary to its previous launch strategies. Moving iPhone production to India mitigates that risk and also helps Apple improve its relations in the critically important Indian market where the middle class is soaring and import taxes on products companies want to sell there are still quite high.
