Netflix will no longer offer in-app subscriptions on iOS devices

Here Are The Top Apps To Be Installed On Your Brand New iPhone

As with iTunes, Android users who signed up for Netflix could no longer pay for the service through the Google Play store, likewise saving the company the cut Google would take from each subscription payment.

A few months back, Netflix stopped supporting iTunes billing in several markets and is now rolling out the change worldwide.

The popular video-streaming service will no longer allow new or returning customers to sign-up via an in-app subscription on iOS.

iOS users can also now double-tap on either side of their screen to skip forward and backward between scenes.

Big progress on trade deal with China
USA stock-index futures rallied on Sunday amid optimism around trade talks between two of the world's largest economies. A deal could bring an end to what has been a back-and-forth trade war that has lasted for months.

Netflix did not give a clear answer as to when this change happened, but VentureBeat's reporting suggests late November. Netflix is putting an end to that, as it proceeds to kill support for payment through iTunes for new users. However, If you had already in-app subscription, they will be able to continue the same for some time, but those who had missed their monthly subscription had to go through their browser to pay for the subscription. Previously this year, Fortnite challenged Google's claim to app revenue by making the game's mobile app version downloadable outside of the Google Play Store. With users now having to sign up directly to Netflix via their website, the firm gets to keep all of the subscription money.

Netflix is not the only one that is escaping from Apple's and Google's fees, as Spotify, Fortnite and Steam have also made a decision to skip the iTunes and Google Play payment method.

VentureBeat noted that Apple takes a 15 to 30% cut from in-app subscriptions, and that has been a growing point of contention between the tech giant and app developers.
