Nokia's Next Android Flagship Features Five Cameras

Nokia's Next Android Flagship Features Five Cameras

With MWC 2019 around the corner, and CES next week, it's definitely the time of the year to be watching the mobile space. The smartphone was rumoured to arrive in 2018 but was delayed due to some production line issues related to the cameras. One that everyone has their eye on is HMD's Nokia 9 PureView, and with good reason.

In addition, the Nokia 9 PureView is equipped with a 5.99-inch 2K display with HDR10 support. But it turns out there's also a promo video making the rounds, which mentions the Nokia 9's main specs as well as some of its camera tricks.

If the leaked press render doesn't quench your thirst, MySmartPrice has shared another detailed photo alongside a promotional video that summarizes the handset's features perfectly.

Previous PureView-branded devices include the Nokia 808 and Lumia 1020, it added. Further, according to the buzz, the phone will have a metal frame with glass panels covering the front and back sides.

"Is that an LG G6 slapped with a five-camera setup on the back?" a comment reads.

Reports added that the Nokia 9 will be part of the Android One programme, which means it will receive the latest Android software updates and will run the latest version of the operating system. The cameras will also offer "stunning crisp HDR photography". The "revolutionary" five-camera setup will, of course, allow for better quality pictures. It also features an in-display fingerprint sensor. However, unlike the Nokia 7.1, there doesn't seem to be any sort of notch, or even a real attempt to implement a full, bezel-less design like a lot of other modern handsets, which is actually kind of refreshing. Previously, on the hardware front the Nokia 9 was tipped to come with Snapdragon 845 chipset, but now rumours suggest that it could be the first phone from HMD to come with Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 855.
