Here's where the next Trump-Kim summit may take place

Rumors about Kim's visit to China began late Monday local time when a North Korean train painted green carrying a "senior North Korean official" was described crossing over the North Korea-China border, South Korea's Yonhap News Agency reported. The visit was also confirmed by China Central Television.

Kim did not say whether the spy agency revealed any information about Jo's current whereabouts or whether the diplomat had plans to defect to South Korea.

This is Kim's first foreign trip of the year and his fourth overall to China.

The White House has remained evasive on the exact timing of the summit, though officials have previously said they expected the meeting to happen sometime early this year.

A special North Korean train has entered China, raising speculation that Kim Jong-un could be on his way to Beijing.

Trump and Kim met to discuss denuclearizing the Korean peninsula last June in Singapore, but little headway has occurred since then.

Progress, however, has been slow in denuclearization for months as the North calls for sanctions relief, while Washington says such concessions would not be granted until the North completely gives up its nuclear weapons.

Bolsonaro open to U.S. military base in Brazil
Araujo's words were not a threat, Azevedo said. "The World Trade Organisation itself is beginning the process of reforms". US officials haven't made any recent public statements calling for a base in Brazil.

The latest letter from Kim came after the North Korean leader warned in a New Year's speech that Pyongyang may adjust its approach to nuclear talks if the United States persists with sanctions.

He also called for multilateral talks involving the signatories to the truce that ended the 1950-53 Korean War, including China, and replacing it with a peace treaty.

Frank said the protracted trade war between Beijing and Washington, among other issues, has created the impression among strategists in Pyongyang of a "Cold War 2.0 situation".

Italy is an important diplomatic mission for Pyongyang, as it handles relations with the Rome-headquartered UN Food and Agriculture Organisation and North Korea suffers from chronic food shortages.

Kim said last week in a New Year address he is ready to meet Trump again anytime to achieve their common goal of denuclearising the Korean Peninsula, but warned he may have to take an alternative path if USA sanctions and pressure against the country continued.

Officials in China and in Seoul had no immediate comment.

Despite Trump's repeated assurances that another summit will allow he and Kim to make a grand deal to settle the nuclear standoff and change a relationship marked by decades of animosity and mistrust, outside analysts are highly skeptical that the North will easily abandon a nuclear arsenal constructed in the face of deep poverty and likely seen by Kim as his only guarantee of regime survival.
