Tim Tebow is getting married.

According to PEOPLE, Tebow proposed to girlfriend and former Miss Universe Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters in Jacksonville on Wednesday.

Tebow and the 2017 Miss Universe victor first confirmed their relationship in July.

Once she said yes, Del-Peters' family and friends from her native country of South Africa came out to surprise her, along with Tebow's family. Nel-Peters wrote to her future husband online.

'I don't want to be single; I'm ready to settle down and start a family.

'I was excited. I wanted everything to be flawless and to go smoothly.

'I am usually very private with these things but I am very thankful'.

The University of Florida alum said he's also excited to plan the wedding, with Demi-Leigh echoing his sentiments. "Of course, it's important to be attracted to someone, but it really needs to be about who they are on the inside", he said.
