Ocasio-Cortez campaign fined by feds

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

"With all respect", he told FOX Business' Neil Cavuto on Thursday, "I certainly hope she's not the future and I don't believe she is". "She's gotten a lot of attention because she's different".

Last year, Ocasio-Cortez was also mocked after lamenting the shuttering of a coffee shop in NY, even though it closed its doors thanks to the wage hike in the state - a policy that she supports.

'If you look at the majority of new Democrats in the House, ' he said, 'they tend to be - I say, center-left. and that is because they had to be center-left to win some of those competitive swing districts that they took from Republicans'. 'Honestly, if the Democrats had 3 more of her, Americans would run away so fast that we'd have a power monopoly until she's Lieberman's age'.

AOC unsheathed the quote from a character created by the British anarchist author in response to a Politico piece about older-guard Democrats' frustration with the outspoken new member of their House.

The failure to provide the coverage to campaign staff is particularly awkward for Ocasio-Cortez, the Democratic socialist who rose to stardom after unseating top Democratic Rep. Joe Crowley with a campaign theme of improving conditions for the working class.

China offers Elon Musk permanent residency
Through the rain, Shanghai's vice mayor said Musk and Tesla could make a fortune out of the muddy wasteland. After a year to forget in the U.S., Elon Musk just had a few days to remember in China .

Since upsetting six-term incumbent Joe Crowley in a primary last summer and winning election to Crowley's old seat in November, Ocasio-Cortez has used her huge social-media following to chastise fellow Democrats she believes are insufficiently progressive and too beholden to the antiquated establishment.

In November, Ocasio-Cortez, 29, became the youngest woman ever elected to Congress.

Politico reported on the effort to rein in Ocasio-Cortez, described by some 20 Democrat lawmakers and aides as "part carrot, part stick: Some lawmakers with ties to Ocasio-Cortez are hoping to coax her into using her star power to unite Democrats and turn her fire on Republicans".

Senator Joe Lieberman campaigns for vice president during a rally at California State University at Fresno in 2000.
