Google reveals the shutdown date for Google

Google Plus,Google+ Shut Down,Google Save Data

AND SO it came to pass that on the second day of April in the Year of our Lord Twenty-hundred and nineteen, the shutters will close for the final time on the social network for loners, Google+.

"On 2 April, your Google+ account and any Google+ pages you created will be shut down and we will begin deleting content from consumer Google+ accounts", Google said. Find more details here in Google's FAQ on the shutdown, and make sure to grab your data if you have any cherished memories on the platform.

"If you've used Google+ for comments on your own or other sites, this feature will be removed from Blogger by February 4th and other sites by March 7th", the company added in a support page. Photos and videos backed up in Google Photos will not be deleted.

In a blog post, Google outlines its phasing out of the social network.

Google cites "low usage and challenges involved in maintaining a successful product that meets consumers' expectations" as Plus' downfall. Google has provided a set of instructions as to how you can go about doing that. The exact date is unclear, but it'll be within weeks. However, in some cases, these buttons may be replaced by a Google Sign-in button so that you can continue to sign it with your Google Account wherever you see them.

On that date, Google+ accounts and pages will become inaccessible to users.

Duke Basketball: Blue Devils, Irish battle in South Bend on Big Monday
When TJ Gibbs drove the lane to score with 4:49 left until halftime, Duke's lead fell to single digits at 32-23. The Cavaliers shot 44.4 percent on 8 of 18 3-pointers, dominated the boards 45-33 and made just two turnovers.

However, Google claims the process of deleting consumer Google+ data will take a couple of months.

Google won't shut down Google+ for G Suite customers and even plans to introduce new features to the Enterprise version.

It should be noted that Google+ for G Suite users isn't going anywhere.

"We'd like to take this opportunity to thank all of our Google+ users who've built their communities with us over the years", Google concluded.

From7th March, third-party sites will also lose their ability to use Google+ as a comment login. You can use the company's Takeout program to back up some of your data, but Google is also providing a Google+ backup tool that will do a more thorough job.
