Mario Kart is coming to smartphones this Summer

Mario Kart mobile game delayed until summer

Last year's rumor mill simply predicted a new model could arrive in 2019, but a Japanese report has narrowed fans' expectations based on its sources' intel: Nintendo may have a new SKU with portability and price, not power, in mind.

The company says the Mario Kart Tour app will be delayed until summer 2019 but didn't specify a month or date. According to them, instead of expecting 20 million consoles shipped for the next fiscal year, it's only expecting 17 million to be shipped. Based on the report numbers, the system has already sold through 32.27 million units as of December 31, 2018, setting an unprecedented record for only being on the market just under two years.

The previous record-holder was New Super Mario Bros. Ultimate, Pokémon: Let's Go (which sold 10 million units), and Super Mario Party (which sold 5.3 million).

Martial close to agreeing new deal with Manchester United
However, the Belgium worldwide has not featured since United's FA Cup third-round victory over Reading on January 5. The report claims that United are refusing to confirm if a fee has been agreed for the midfielder.

Even more of interest, however, is exactly what Nintendo has planned for Mario Kart Tour. It was the first time that Mario had been playable on another game platform.

The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild has also been confirmed as the best-selling Zelda ever on 13.18 million - around 1.5 million of which are for the Wii U version. Based on corroborating reports from several translators, the correct interpretation appears to be that Nintendo is bringing new features or services to the existing Nintendo Switch Online platform.

No other information is available at this time, apart from a tentative release window: "early summer 2019".
