The issue impacting the Live system has been noted by Microsoft, who have updated customers on Twitter on the Xbox Support page.

Furthermore, Xbox Vice President Mike Ybarra confirmed it a "deployment error" with the Xbox Live service.

Earlier this morning, many reports began swirling from Xbox One players that were having trouble booting up their consoles.

In a recent trend of video game services going down, Xbox One users are now experiencing some issues, with many unable to even boot up their consoles.

Looks like the Xbox servers are back up and everything is back to normal. Despite the fact that the issues being reported might look like hardware malfunctions at a glance, the fact that Xbox Live is now "limited" is making it impossible for many Xbox One owners to play games or access content, online or off. "We'll have additional updates to provide soon".

Microsoft referred users to the Xbox Live status page for updates, where people reported further issues in viewing the page - something the team are "investigating". In a tweet, Microsoft's support account stated, "If you're running into errors attempting to sign in or access previously purchased content, our teams are aware and working to identify the cause. Stay tuned, and thanks for your patience".

The good news? Those consoles weren't actually dead - they just froze up when they failed to sign into Xbox Live.

The news comes after on Wednesday Xbox Live again went down for thousands of gamers.

Other Xbox One fans were greeted with a 0x8b050033 error screen.
