Huawei teases its foldable phone on Twitter to some consternation

Samsung's take on the gaming smartphone is bold and peculiar at the same time

Foldable smartphone is the biggest buzz in the smartphone market now and a new name to Join the list is Huawei. This would be a completely different phone from the foldable phone we're expecting to see at the company's February 20 event just prior to MWC 2019. Huawei on Friday confirmed that it will unveil its own foldable device just a few days later on February 24th, a day before Mobile World Congress officially kicks off officially in Barcelona, Spain. Huawei's First Foldable Phone The Chinese brand took to Twitter to announce its upcoming event at this year's Mobile World Congress, happening at Barcelona, Spain, in February 24. For now, interested smartphone users can go to preferred providers for these new phones.

So far little is known about the price of Huawei's first foldable smartphone. As to other specifications of the device, there is no word from the company.

Talks about Huawei working on a foldable smartphone started in the fourth quarter of 2017.

The foldable device isn't likely to be Samsung's actual foldable smartphone, but rather a concept.

Samsung hasn't revealed many details about its foldable smartphone, except the displays.

The teaser happened at the very end of Huawei Mobile's 5G launch event in Beijing today. The Chinese company is expected to showcase its 5G foldable phone at the event. The screen remains on the outside of the device once it's folded, similar to renders shared yesterday.

However, according to the sources, the Huawei's foldable phone will be the world's first foldable smartphone, followed by Samsung. The teaser image revealed the display will indeed be on the outside.

Foldable smartphones are definitely going to be the most innovative trend of 2019. With its official unveiling done back in November last year, the much-anticipated foldable phone was due to be released in March, this year, along with a 5G powered Galaxy S10.
