Facebook Messenger gives users option to delete sent messages

Facebook finally lets users delete sent messages in personal and group chats on Messenger

Facebook has added a new feature to its messaging platform that allows users to unsend messages.

If you manage to do this in time, the only remnant will be a note, informing others in the chat that the message has been deleted. though you must always be wary of those trigger happy screen-shotting pricks. "Tapping 'remove for everyone" will permanently delete the message from your chat and the receiving party's chat.

People keen to use the service will need to act fast as the message must be deleted within 10 minutes of sending.

First, be aware that this method only works as of February 2019 with the latest Facebook Messenger app updates - so it won't work on the desktop Facebook website on your computer. Still, if you say something and immediately regret it, you'll be able to unsend it starting today. But it's pretty much useless if you drunk message your ex one night and then wake up the next morning realizing you made a frightful mistake.

Scientists searching for owner of USB stick found frozen in seal poo
The stick was in good condition - "considering where it had come from" - and the researchers let it dry out for a few weeks. It turns out that USB thumb drives can as well, at least when the pinniped digestive system is involved.

Mark Zuckerberg is no longer the only one with the power to recall Facebook messages. Going all the way back to last April.

The functionality was originally introduced for Facebook executives in 2014, after Sony Pictures' email accounts were hacked. A Facebook representative told us that it's still rolling out on the app stores and to give it some time. The latter option only removes the message in your view of the conversation, whereas Remove for everyone will remove the message from the conversation for all recipients. "These included limiting the retention period for Mark's messages in Messenger".

What do you think, are you ready to unsend some texts on Facebook Messenger? Once ten minutes have elapsed, you're stuck with your embarrassing typo-ridden messages forever. Sound off down in the comments section with your thoughts.
