Game of Thrones Season 8 Photos Revealed

The prequel will be set thousands of years before the events of Game of Thrones

This news comes after almost a year of rumors of when the HBO show will start filming.

As we get closer and closer to 14 April, when the final season of Game Of Thrones will begin, fans are getting more and more excited about what to expect.

Though we shall mourn Thrones when it is over, HBO already has a production start for its Game of Thrones prequel series starring Naomi Watts, so there is certainly more of this story to tell. The series chronicles the world's descent from the golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour. They include everything from who will sit on the Iron Throne to what will happen between Jon and Daenerys - and there's also that little matter of the epic battle we've been hearing about, now that the Army of the Dead has breached The Wall. It's being helmed by showrunner Jane Goldman, with the pilot being directed by Jessica Jones' SJ Clarkson. Let us what you think in the comments!

Meanwhile, the final season of Game of Thrones will premiere on April 14.
