Netflix Gets Smarter About Downloads on iOS

When you've done that, basically head over to the "downloads" area of the application and you'll find the "smart downloads" switch at the exceptionally top.

After being available on Android devices since summer a year ago, Netflix is now rolling out the Smart Downloads feature to iOS users. Netflix launched Smart Downloads for Android users in July 2018.

Smart Downloads, as the name suggests, is a smarter version of the Downloads feature that lets you save Netflix content to your device's local storage for offline viewing.

The feature deletes a downloaded episode when a user finishes watching and then automatically downloads the next episode.

If a member downloads the last two episodes available, and watches them, the app does not delete them and does not download the earlier episodes.

"We know how annoying it can be to go through all your apps and delete files you no longer need; we also understand that when it comes to Netflix, the faster you can get to the next episode you want to watch, the better". In addition to that, it downloads the next one as you're on a WiFi network. Once they are done watching the first episode, the Smart Downloads feature automatically starts downloading the fourth episode. To do this, select the Menu icon and then "App Settings". In the last quarter, the company added 8.8 million new subscribers, including 7.31 million non-U.S. users. As for Netflix, the company wants you to get access to your favorite content more easily.

This new feature will work for users even when they are watching multiple shows on their mobile devices at a single time.
