Marcus Morris paints picture of a Celtics locker room struggling to coexist

Marcin Gortat

They have won 10 of their last 12 games, with their two losses during that stretch coming in close games to the Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Lakers.

Kyrie Irving left Saturday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers after tweaking his knee late in the second quarter.

Adding insult to injury - or maybe injury to insult - the Celtics lost Kyrie Irving to a right knee sprain in the second quarter, and the All-Star point guard did not return. It was the biggest comeback by a team in the National Basketball Association the past two seasons, the largest in Clippers history and Boston's biggest blown lead since December 5, 2003, coming two nights after the Celtics spit the bit on an 18-point lead in a 129-128 loss to the visiting Los Angeles Lakers. Irving ultimately missed the Celtics' run to the Eastern Conference finals last spring.

Following Sunday's loss, Celtics' forward Marcus Morris spoke in depth about the commotion surrounding the team this season. I don't see the joy in the game.

Karlan Grant claiming Huddersfield's goal against Arsenal
Huddersfield striker Karlan Grant insists he will be claiming his side's late goal in Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Arsenal after making his home debut off the bench.

Irving, 26, is averaging 23.6 points, 6.9 assists and 4.9 rebounds in 47 games (all starts) this season.

"I watch all these other teams around the league and guys are up on the bench. That's the goal. The trade deadline's over". Now, Morris is calling on his teammates to put any drama behind them and focus on winning.

"Trade deadline's over. You're competing for a championship and that's how we've got to approach these games", said Morris. "We have to genuinely want to win". "And again, I need to look at myself first and figure out what I can do to help that not happen". That has to be the first goal. This is what we're going with.

I'm trying to win and I'm willing to do whatever it takes to win... So, at the end of the day, man... it's unacceptable what we did tonight.
