Baltimore Ravens to trade Joe Flacco to Denver Broncos

Joe Flacco of the Baltimore Ravens throws a pass against the Denver Broncos on Sept. 23 2018 in Baltimore

The Baltimore Ravens have reached a tentative trade agreement with the Denver Broncos to send former Super Bowl-winning quarterback Joe Flacco to Denver, according to a person familiar with the situation.

CBS Sports Jason La Canfora also confirmed the trade Wednesday.

Flacco lost his starting job last season to rookie Lamar Jackson and was widely expected to be traded or released in the offseason.

The demand at the position is one reason Denver pounced on Flacco. Flacco's quarterback rating hasn't risen above 90 since the 2014 season.

Root falls as England stumble to tea
It is understood that no further disciplinary measures will be taken surrounding the incident. Former England cricketer Nasser Hussain said Root's reaction would help cement his legacy.

Flacco has three years remaining on his existing deal, and will earn $18.5 million in base salary in 2019 unless he reworks his contract.

Flacco is likely to replace Case Keenum as the Broncos' starting quarterback. He spent 11 seasons with the Ravens and was the MVP of their Super Bowl triumph over the San Francisco 49ers to conclude the 2012 season. Or, the team could move on from him after the 2019 season with zero cap penalties as all the guarantees in his contract will have already been paid out.

Flacco spent the first 11 years of his career in Baltimore after being drafted out of DE in 2008. Additionally, Schefter notes that both teams are prohibited from commenting on the trade or terms surrounding it.
