Previously, he had said that he thinks "anyone who is upset is stupid". According to Us Weekly, viewers watching the awards show from the comfort of their homes were shown a close-up of Rodriguez appearing stunned during Lopez's performance.

"The thing about music is that it inspires all". When Ne-Yo came out to contribute a rendition of Stevie Wonder's "Another Star", the spirit of multiple black artists singing Motown hits nearly felt like a tribute -except with Lopez perched atop the white grand piano Ne-Yo was playing and diva-worthy fireworks exploding for the finale.

"Attention, all those of you who protested a wonderful, super talented, world renowned, super star like Jennifer Lopez, showing her love and support for Motown music, here's some food for thought", he began his lengthy post.

Robinson elaborated, "Motown was music for everybody". Even before Lopez performed, many were critical of a non-black performer being given the opportunity to pay tribute to Motown.

Lopez joined the Motown legend and singer Ne-Yo for an energetic tribute to the label founded by Berry Gordy in Detroit in 1959. It was a Black- people and culture- label that promoted Black talent- people and culture- with class and dignity AND SOUL!

Paul Scholes appointed new Oldham Athletic manager
Speaking about the appointment, Oldham owner Abdallah Lemsagam said: "Paul has won everything there is to win in football ". He added: "That is part of the thing that bugged me a little bit".

However, following the backlash, Jennifer insisted she was thrilled with how the performance had gone, and explained that it was a tribute to her mother - who always used to play Motown hits when she was growing up.

Addressing the criticism, Jennifer added: "The thing about music is that it inspires all". "Singing up there with Smokey Robinson, like, I gotta pinch myself", she said. "Mommy, this is for you because we used to dance around to this music", she told E! ahead of her performance. "You gotta do what's in your heart".

Clearly, people were upset on behalf of the Motown legends they grew up loving. "We were The Temptations and we just sing with her and I feel it's a dream come true".

Turns out that Lopez had both critics and supporters afterward and Robinson tweeted her a thanks.
