PSG boss Tuchel suprised by Di Maria's hostile Old Trafford reception

PSG have the players to stop Pogba, insists Draxler

Angel Di Maria had the last laugh on his return to Old Trafford as he inspired Paris Saint-Germain to a 2-0 win over Manchester United while being the subject of abuse and anger from the home supporters.

His performance was memorable for many reasons, as Man United's fans and players looked to get at di Maria early on.

Di Maria even had a bottle thrown at him when he went over to take a set-piece in front of the fans during the second-half.

Di Maria stayed down for an extended period of time while players argued with each other and complained to the referee Daniele Orsato.

Di Maria was booed upon arrival in Manchester, a welcome that worsened as the game began as a PSG side, minus Edinson Cavani and Neymar, took on a United team riding an eleven-game unbeaten run.

Angel Di Maria created quite a buzz on Tuesday night at Old Trafford, both with his scintillating display on the field and also with his goal celebration.

Watch as a BBC cameraman is assaulted at Trump's rally
A video has revealed the shocking moment a BBC cameraman, Ron Skeans , was attacked at a Donald Trump rally in Texas . His relationship with the media reached a nadir in October 2018 when he called it "the true enemy of the people".

Unfazed, Di Maria picked up the missile and proceeded to pretend to drink out of the bottle, much to chagrin of United fans, but much to the sheer amusement of the Twitterati.

The French champions followed up Kimpembe's opener with a second goal courtesy of Kylian Mbappe.

Di Maria's Old Trafford return was filled with drama and controversy.

"It was hard from the opening minute but I knew this was going to happen", Di Maria told Cadena Cope radio of the atmosphere.

In truth, Young was perhaps fortunate to not receive a second yellow for the shove, however he survived and has since been applauded for his efforts by Man Utd fans.

Paris Saint-Germain's head coach Thomas Tuchel said of the shove: "There was no need to push Di Maria into the fans but I don't think it was on objective". He was a bit nervous and needed to be calmer in the first-half. 90 more minutes are missing To continue working for what is coming.
