Air Canada Pilot Actually Ordered 23 Pizzas For Passengers Stranded On Board For Eight Hours featured image

Image sourceOne will feel really sorry for passengers of an Air Canada flight from Toronto to Halifax who had to endure a dreary wait because of extreme weather conditions.

Her staff assembled the huge order in around an hour and delivered them right to the plane's door at Fredericton airport. The plane circled Halifax Stanfield International Airport but could not land due to the weather and was eventually diverted to Fredericton, where the plane was directed to remain on the tarmac.

With 23 pizzas he helped hungry passengers stuck in the plane for hours owing to snowstorm.

After the flight was grounded, the captain placed a call to a local restaurant to order the pizzas.

Her crew obtained the pizzas prepared in an hour and despatched them to the airport through Minglers' supply service.

Passenger Philomena Hughes told CBC News, "It was something that could have been very stressful [but] he made it a lot easier". There was lots of help, there were a couple of Air Canada Jazz pilots that were traveling on the plane and they were helping to pick up the pizza and distribute it.

"We told him we could have them made in an hour or hour and a half", manager Jofee Lariv?e told CNN.

Bill Karsten, a city councilor from Halifax, tweeted a picture of a flight attendant doling out the pizza. "Everybody chipped in, so he didn't want to take the whole credit for himself", she said.

Typically, when a flight gets stranded or severely delayed, pilots make a bunch of vague assurances in hopes that their passengers won't riot.
