Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 with 'ultra-slim' case goes on sale today

Redmi 7 leaks clearly in an early hands-on video

But, the Redmi 7 has a bigger bottom chin, and that's normal for a budget phone. The video compares the Xiaomi Redmi 7 to the Redmi Note 7 since both look similar. The phone recently appeared on TENAA that revealed the design as well as some specifications of it. However, they do get a better Redmi Note 7 Pro version that comes with a more powerful Snapdragon 675 and that unit comes with a 48MP + 5MP dual-camera setup.

The Redmi 7 appears with a plastic body unlike the Redmi Note 7 series, this is fair considering the Redmi 7 will be an entry-level phone and should cost similar to the predecessor Redmi 6 which launched in India past year.

The highlight of Redmi Note 7 is its dual rear camera setup featuring a 12-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel secondary depth sensor to add DSLR like bokeh effects to your photos.

Rest of the elements such as location of fingerprint sensor, volume buttons and power button remain the same as Xiaomi's last year's Redmi 6 Pro. Airtel is also offering double data on Rs 249 recharge, which comes with only 28 days validity. The Redmi Note 7 has been priced at Rs 9,999 for the 3GB RAM + 32GB storage and Rs 11,999 for 4GB RAM + 64GB storage. Xiaomi will be releasing multiple variants of the device with RAM options of 2/3/4GB and storage options of 16/32/64GB, so the phone should cover several price points. Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 AIE SoC paired with up to 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage.

The Redmi 7 continues on with a microUSB port instead of moving forward with a USB Type-C port.

On the front, the Redmi 7 has a 6.26-inch LCD with a resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels. The selfie camera is 13 MP. The device runs on Android 9 Pie based on MIUI 10.

Redmi 7 Color Options include black, red, blue, pink, white, green, purple, and gray.
