First full Aladdin movie trailer takes a magic-carpet ride onto screens

Directed by Guy Ritchie, the film stars Will Smith, Mena Massoud and Naomi Scott in lead roles. Usually, two months out from release, we'd be getting the final of two or three trailers, but Aladdin apparently works in reverse. Will Smith's much-criticized Genie look is finally fixed in this sneak peek but there are never-before-seen shots of other fan-favorites like Aladdin's trusty sidekick Abu and the Magic Carpet. While Will Smith's Genie disappointed the audience in the introductory teaser, this trailer too will not help him in scoring any brownie points with the audience. As the original Genie, Robin Williams was a mile-a-minute reference machine, burning through celebrity impressions at an alarming rate. Watch the new trailer above and check out the film's poster below.

Disney is offering another glimpse into the upcoming Aladdin film with their second full-length trailer, which premiered on March 12 on Good Morning America. Get ready for a whole new world.

Don't dare close your eyes ― even if you want to ― because, no, you didn't hallucinate Will Smith in full-blue genie mode during some Disney-tinged nightmare.

The film will open in theaters this May 24. These include Tim Burton's Dumbo releasing on March 28 and Jon Favreau's The Lion King set to hit the cinemas on July 19. Will Smith plays Genie, Naomi Scott plays Princess Jasmine and Mena Massoud plays Aladdin. "I don't think people will be anxious about Genie after this!" one wrote.
