James Corden pulls the ultimate prank on David Beckham

David Beckham Falls Hook, Line And Sinker For James Corden’s Statue Swap Prank

In good news, the real statue of Beckham was unveiled earlier this month, and this one actually resembles the legend.

The 43-year-old retired footballer received an honorary statue of himself from his LA Galaxy team at their stadium and James made a decision to take the opportunity to prank him with a fake statue, which he calls "a balance between realistic and absolutely bad".

David Beckham was left shell-shocked when James Corden pranked him with a disgusting commemorative statue. That actor also referred to Beckham as "Dave" instead of "David".

Chris Klein, one of Beckham's former LA Galaxy teammates and club president, was in on the prank as a video package of Beckham's Galaxy highlights showed some of his lowlights, too.

"It's slightly different than it was when I saw it in Chicago", Beckham said as the ugly effigy was revealed. "I mean, look at my chin?"

The proportions aren't quite right

"I really don't see how this can go out. There's no way that can out in front of the stadium".

".I mean, look at my chin", he pointed out. The only thing that is good is the hair, look at my arse.

The football icon was lost for words when he first saw his unflattering statue's face, telling people around him that he looks like "Stretch Armstrong".

After a forklift driver "accidentally" destroyed the offending statue, Corden ran out from behind the scenes and surprised Beckham, who laughed and cursed at the late-night host. The ex-player still wasn't happy but at least remarked to the guilty party, "You've probably done me a favour there".

Finally ending the prank, the star giggled when comedian James Corden walked on set and a looking relieved Beckham said: "Thank God for that!"
