Australian man stops arrow with his mobile phone

The police statement did not identify the model of the phone.

Now, we're off to cherish our own phones.

An Australian man is lucky to be alive after his cellphone blocked an arrow. The incident took place in the city of Nimbin in New South Wales, Australia.

A 43-year-old man stopped his auto at his driveway at a Nimbin property on Wednesday morning and noticed a man he knew, reportedly armed with the archery gear, NSW police said. The first man whipped out his phone to snap a photo of the bow-wielding guy.

Several reports said that O'Rourke's volunteers from his Senate run had been contacted and urged to be ready to get back to work. When the Des Moines Register/CNN/Mediacom poll was first run in December, O'Rourke placed third, the top choice of 11 percent.

The 43-year-old from Nimbin was getting out of his vehicle Wednesday when a man he knew was standing outside his residence holding a bow and arrow, New South Wales Police said.

The 39-year-old man was charged with assault and property damage offences, and will face a court next month.

Sadly, his screen protector was no match for the sharpened arrow. The phone hit him in the chin which gave him a small laceration "that didn't require medical treatment", police said. It's unclear what model the phone it is, though it appears to be an Android device.

The attacker was granted bail and is set to appear in court on April 15.
