Samsung keeps the dream of the under-screen camera alive

The Galaxy S10+'s Dynamic AMOLED display is a double hole punch short of being perfect

Samsung's Infinity-O technology was a good compromise, avoiding a notch, but still leaving some part of the screen unusable due to the hole in the screen.

It's not possible to make a smartphone today that integrated all of the necessary camera equipment behind the screen but according to Yang Byung-duk, vice president of Samsung's Mobile Communication R&D Group Display, "in the next 1-2 years, the technology can move forward to the point where the camera hole will be invisible".

Although Samsung is proud of its Infinity-O display, the company is certainly not stopping there and is now working on a full-screen phone with the camera sensors hidden.

Google employee breaks world record for calculating pi
But even if you don't work for Google , you can apply for various scholarships and programs to access computing resources. In addition to reaching such a high calculation, this is also the first time the world record was broken using the cloud.

However, creating a smartphone with a full-screen display where all sensors embedded into the screen is the ultimate goal of the company. But that was just the beginning as Samsung is working on completely eliminating the punch-hole by moving the camera under the display. While the company can place the selfie camera under the OLED panel even with the existing technology, the image quality takes a serious hit. Yang admits that it won't be possible to build the true all-screen phone of the future for at least a few more years, but says it should be possible to hide the camera beneath the display within the next year or two.

And as it turns out, Samsung itself got the message and is now working on more updates that would improve the fingerprint sensor. The Galaxy Fold is most likely going to have its own problems, such as a creasing screen and thick dimensions, and it could take several more years before Samsung perfects the design of this product, while also keeping the price of the handset in check.

Like LG, Samsung also considered developing a Crystal Sound OLED display in which the display could act as a speaker.
