James Gunn Is Back To Directing 'Guardians Of The Galaxy 3'

Disney rehires James Gunn for ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ sequel

After firing him for offensive, decade-old tweets last July, Disney met with Gunn on several occasions and determined that he had taken the right steps and was indeed the man to helm Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Gunn's rehiring is a decision that was reportedly made some time ago after meetings with Walt Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn, and will not conflict with his work at Warner Bros. on The Suicide Squad.

Gunn, who wrote and directed the first two Guardians of the Galaxy to great accolades, was sacked from the third film in July.

"I am tremendously grateful to every person out there who has supported me over the past few months", Gunn wrote on Twitter Friday. For those that may not recall, Gunn was sacked from Marvel last summer when some old tweets he had made resurfaced. James Gunn is the guy who directed the first two Guardians of the Galaxy movies for Disney, movies that made a combined total of $1.6 billion and are beloved by millions. I have been, and continue to be incredibly humbled by your love and support.

NY Times Skewers Pelosi for Backing Down on Impeachment
I'm going to give you some news right now because I haven't said this to any press person before. If Congress opts against impeachment regardless of what the special counsel, Robert S.

'I have regretted them for many years since - not just because they were stupid, not at all amusing, wildly insensitive, and certainly not provocative like I had hoped, but also because they don't reflect the person I am today or have been for some time'. Gunn was sensationally and summarily fired from Guardians 3 after a series of distasteful old tweets were unearthed by right-wing campaigners against Gunn and his fellow liberals. "At the end of the day, he was making jokes and he was being provocative and he was looking for that shock value, but they were just jokes. Love you to you all". "That's why I laugh at people with AIDS".

The cast was very supportive of their director with Bradley Cooper, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana and Dave Bautista all signing an open letter to get the director back. But I suspect James Gunn wrapping up the trilogy he started the way he wanted will be worth the wait.

So the first Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 trailer will be coming in not too long, but we know how thirsty you guys are for a glimpse - so we put together this special sneak peek at #GotGVol2 for you.
