New Zealand PM Says Got'Manifesto From Gunman'9 Minutes Before Attack

Brenton Harrison Tarrant, a 28-year old Australian citizen, accused of killing at least 49 people at two Christchurch mosques in New Zealand appeared in a District Court on Saturday. The judge said "it was reasonable to assume" more such charges would follow.

When asked what he thought of the prime minister suggesting there should be a change in New Zealand's gun laws, the police commissioner said he was "happy to hear" that.

Video footage widely circulated on social media, apparently taken by a gunman and posted online live as the attack unfolded, showed him driving to one mosque, entering it and shooting randomly at people inside.

Neighboring Australia has virtually banned semi-automatic rifles from private ownership since a lone gunman killed 35 people with assault rifles in 1996. Worshippers, possibly dead or wounded, lay on the floor, the video showed.

His 21-year-old son Talha also was killed at the Al Noor mosque.

She also signalled that if convicted, he would serve his sentence in New Zealand. No images have emerged from there.

"It did not include a location, it did not include specific details", she said, adding that it was sent to security services within two minutes of receipt.

People across New Zealand were still trying to come to terms with the massacre that Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern described as "one of New Zealand's darkest days".

Huang Yan, the manager of the Christchurch branch of China's Southern Airlines, told Xinhua the mass shooting would bring negative impact on New Zealand tourism as Christchurch has just been recovered from the aftermath of the 2011 deadly natural disaster.

Officers arrested two others following the attacks and are now working to establish whether they had any involvement in the terror attacks against the Muslim community in New Zealand.

Jacinda Ardern visited the Kilbirnie mosque to comfort those affected by the tragic shooting which saw 50 worshipers including children, a renowned heart surgeon and a talented sportsman shot dead as they prayed.

Kensington Palace has released a statement on behalf of Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, Prince William, and Kate Middleton in response to the New Zealand terror attack. Thirty- six people were still being treated on Saturday, 11 of whom remained in intensive care.

"Many of the people require multiple trips to the theatre to deal with the complex series of injuries they have", said Christchurch Hospital's Chief of Surgery Greg Robertson.

‘Absolutely his intention’: Christchurch gunman planned further attacks, had other firearms
Twelve operating theatres worked through the night on the more than 40 people wounded, said hospital authorities. Most others marked on the email were media houses, both domestic and worldwide , said a PM's spokesman.

Her fellow countrymen seemed to want to prove her right by volunteering acts of kindness.

Police were able to neutralize two devices: an improvised explosive device at one of the mosques and another device found in the suspect's vehicle, which was also rendered safe.

Most of the victims of the attacks were immigrants from Pakistan, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Turkey, Somalia and Afghanistan.

"I'm not sure how to deal with this".

"By the time he got there (outside the mosque) the bullets were finished and the gun was used", Lateef recounted.

"Police will continue to maintain a presence at all Mosques across New Zealand", New Zealand Police tweeted on Sunday.

A fourth person was arrested yesterday in the wake of the shootings, but has been released without charge.

The AP also reported that Tarrant, who has donated to a number of white nationalist groups but has no other direct affiliation with them, allegedly was given personal approval by Breivik to commit the mosque attacks in Christchurch, though this has yet to be verified.

"It was disturbing", she says.

Ardern said the suspect was a licensed gun owner who bought the five guns used in the crimes legally.

Arden used some of her strongest language yet about gun control, saying that laws need to change and "they will change".

"The United States strongly condemns the attack in Christchurch". Three people are in custody over the mass shootings.
