Volkswagen Golf to Debut at the End of the Year

Volkswagen Golf to Debut at the End of the Year

Frankfurt am Main (AFP) - German automaker Volkswagen said it would eliminate up to 7,000 jobs by 2023 as it seeks to accelerate its transition to electric vehicles, although the cuts should be achieved via retirement offers.

However, the Volkswagen is taking major risk by planning such a big move because the company doesn't know how many buyers will want these electric cars.

While the arrival of the Taycan and e-tron have already been confirmed for Australia, consumer can also expect to see the ID hatchback, Crozz SUV and Buzz camper within the next three years, says VW Australia's brand experience manager Kurt McGuiness.

One of the highlights of Volkswagen's 2019 Annual Media Conference was the announcement that the VW Group is planning to launch nearly 70 new electric models in the next ten years instead of the 50 that were previously planned. Diess also added that they will not be following other companies who are building hybrid vehicles as going the fully-electric route will be the most efficient way for them cut their Carbon dioxide emissions.

Aussie politician claims Muslims are responsible for New Zealand shootings
In response, Anning turned around and struck the kid twice in the face, before the egger was tackled to the ground. On Sky News , political journalist Kieran Gilbert said someone with those views did not belong in parliament.

The company stated it prepared to launch almost 70 new electric models by 2028, aiming to put itself at the front line of the industry's shift to zero-emissions driving after the 2015 emissions scandal. However, given VW's scale and finances, the company may be able to pull it off. As a result, the projected number of vehicles to be built on the automaker's MEB electric platform in the next decade will increase from 15 million to 22 million.

Diess had told investors at the company's recent annual earnings press conference that VW is aiming to take the leap like no other manufacturer in the industry. VW puts a lot of faith in its MEB platform that it spent so much time developing for easy EV creation, so we'll how well that work out.

"We are still a few years off receiving them but will be part of an early global introduction of models around 2021-22".
