EU's Barnier: Britain won't get transition without #Brexit deal

Prime Minister Theresa May leaves from the rear of 10 Downing Street on Monday

After her European Union withdrawal deal was rejected three times by lawmakers, the Conservative prime minister invited Corbyn, a veteran socialist, to talks in parliament to try to plot a way out of the crisis.

Brexit minister Stephen Barclay said the government would accept a soft Brexit if parliament voted for it.

On the most recent occasion last week, MPs were asked only to vote on the Prime Minister's Withdrawal Agreement after Commons Speaker John Bercow told her the same motion must not be asked repeatedly without any changes being made. An individual would continue to keep the U.K.at a customs union for products with the EU later Brexit, while the other requires Britain to remain in the bloc's sole market for both goods and services.

But it does offer a glimmer of hope to investors who are anxious Britain might crash out of the European Union without a withdrawal deal on April 12.

Corbyn said he welcomed May's "willingness to compromise to resolve the Brexit deadlock", the BBC reported.

Mr Corbyn said he raised a number of issues with Mrs May, including future customs arrangements, trade agreements and the option of giving the public the final say over the deal in another referendum.

In her speech on Tuesday, May said that if she and Corbyn could reach a unified position, it would be put to MPs for their approval before being taken to the European Council next week.

A source said ministers at the meeting were split 14-10 against asking for a long extension to the Brexit process.

The Parliament of britain gets another chance Monday to supply a way forward on Britain divorce in the European Union, holding a set of votes Brexit choices to find the elusive thought that may command a majority.

But the Fine Gael deputy leader said the Republic was not going to allow a situation where the United Kingdom leaving the European Union without a deal "drags Ireland out of the single market with it". Pro-EU legislators argue it is worse than the U.K.'s current status as an EU member.

Throughout the day political commentators had been speculating on what was being discussed by May and her team of government ministers.

He said he has a "responsibility" to talk with her about what to do next, but some people have been critical of Mrs May working with the Labour Party like this.

Mr Rees-Mogg has accused Mrs May of planning to collaborate with "a known Marxist" - but ruled out toppling her saying: "I have more confidence in Theresa May than in Jeremy Corbyn, though that's not necessarily a very high bar, and Mr Corbyn - even as deputy - is still not the prime minister".

"Honestly, it's sometimes hard to follow", France's Jean-Yves Le Drian said on the twists and turns of the Brexit debate in London.

British Minister of Wales Nigel Adams resigned from the government and Conservative Party whip after failing to agree the latest Brexit strategy of Prime Minister Theresa May.
