Major delays as multiple airlines face system-wide issues

Multiple airlines report system-wide outages disrupting flights across U.S

However, the FAA tweeted that the issue had been resolved and travelers should contact their airlines to see if their flight will be delayed.

USA airlines like Southwest, Delta and JetBlue were forced to cancel or delay hundreds of flights on Monday because of an issue with Aerodata, a system used to monitor a plane's weight and balance, according to the Washington Post. "Mainline operations are affected to varying degrees".

The technical glitch grounded all Southwest flights and sent other airlines spiraling into a domino effect of delays.

More than 525 Southwest Air Lines flights were delayed Monday morning.

A Southwest Airlines flight takes off from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in Arlington, Virginia, on March 11, 2019.

Last week, several airlines reported problems after Sabre, a company airlines use for printing tickets and making reservations, had technical issues. Airlines say travelers should check online for the latest updates on flights.

McCarthy had been offensive coordinator of the San Francisco 49ers when they passed on Rodgers in favor of Alex Smith. McCarthy had called the play the other way, and pressure caused Rodgers to have to throw that way.

The FAA said five airlines were having trouble with a flight planning weight and balance program called Aerodata.

Alaska Airlines said it was working with the vendor to get the system back up. The airline doesn't anticipate flight cancellation.

American Airlines said in an email, "Earlier this morning, AeroData had a technical issue that impacted a few of our regional carriers".

By midday, 3,400 USA flights had been delayed, according to tracking service FlightAware, but it was unclear how many were related to the technical issue.

Other airlines also reported a series of delays as a result of the problem.
