Israel Folau is to be sacked by Rugby Australia: here's why

The Waratahs are not playing this weekend, but are in action next weekend against the Rebels.

"He's saying how we live our lives needs to be closer to how God intended".

Chief executive Raelene Castle revealed Rugby Australia's position, alongside NSW Rugby Union boss Andrew Hore, via a media release on Thursday night.

'Following today's meeting the two organisations will update their respective Boards on the matter to consider next steps.

England's Billy Vunipola has refused to condemn Wallabies star Israel Folau following a homophobia row that has left the Australian facing the sack just months before the World Cup.

Folau posted a photo on Instagram earlier this week, with the message: "Warning".

We stand for inclusivity, diversity and sport for all.

Israel Folau of the Waratahs warms up during the round seven Super Rugby match between the Waratahs and the Sunwolves at McDonald Jones Stadium on March 29, 2019 in Newcastle, Australia.

"I don't agree with absolutely belting the hell out of Israel Folau", he continued.

Samsung shares Galaxy Fold, Galaxy S10 5G availability details
Samsung mobile plans to bank on emerging technologies in the fields of AI and 5G technologies to give it an edge over competition. Videos of the actual device itself will also be available soon now that we're nearing its launch.

"Everyone is entitled to their own views but expressing divisive and discriminatory beliefs is harmful to sport and the broader Australian community".

In cases of a Code of Conduct, the player in question would have to face a three-person independent disciplinary tribunal, like that which was established in 2014 to address Kurtley Beale's breach.

But any hope of Folau returning to the game in which he made his name is now gone and his future now appears to lie in overseas rugby union.

Israel Folau and his wife Maria meeting with representatives of the Rugby Union Players Association on Friday.

But any hope of a return to the NRL, where he began his career, has evaporated after ARLC chairman Peter Beattie said the dual global failed the character test and they would not register a contract.

As he approached his auto, the news crew asked if he regretted his social media posts.

While Lealiifano wouldn't comment on Folau's situation specifically, when asked about players' social media use, he admitted everyone had to be careful when posting. "This is my position on it", he said on his Instagram page. "I'm not a massive fan". Get excited about rugby in Australia and rugby in Canberra and hopefully we can get a good crowd tomorrow night.

"I don't think he deserves to be bullied..."

"It's a lot better to be making good metres and getting involved in the game so obviously I'm happy with that but it's a team thing, on the back of team success comes personal success", Banks told AAP.
