Android Q leaks early, features system-wide dark mode and more

XDA Developers reported that there is a new option called Force Desktop Mode for developers, which could introduce the ability to simply plug in your Android device to a monitor and get a desktop-like experience. Inside the first leaks of Android Q, one of the most key features appeared - finally, after long last. It would be a welcome feature for a small number of users now, but sadly it doesn't seem functional at the moment. A full dark mode means that you'll get more than just a dark portion of the notification settings shade and app drawer. Unlike in Android 9 Pie, enabling dark mode in Android Q will add the dark theme to the entire smartphone.

The Android Q version being talked about is a leaked early build said to have been created in January itself with the Android security patch for February. flashed the leaked Android Q build on a Pixel 3 XL and uncovered the new features, some of which might never make it to the stable build. When you hear about a new chipset being developed, one of the features being highlighted is how the new processor saves on the power usage.

It's important to remember that this release isn't even the official developer pre-release, so it'll be some time before any of these features can be described as "confirmed" with a stable near-complete version of Android Q. The new dark mode may also come with an option to automatically force dark mode on apps that do not have a dark mode, too.

Android Q, which is now in the very early stages, has a built-in dark theme - and several other interesting new features - according to XDA Developers. Permissions Revamp The Android Q update will reportedly come with a complete revamp for the permissions and will come with "an overview of permission access by apps and restrict certain permissions like location only while the app is in use". What would an Android Desktop Mode do? For instance, you can see each apps' permissions individually and cut off the microphone or Global Positioning System only when needed.

Bucs' Pierre-Paul could miss season with neck injury
He was taken to the hospital following the crash and later released, and was reportedly not accused of any wrongdoing. Pierre-Paul was treated and then released following the incident Thursday morning in Broward County (South Florida).

It is now unknown as to which features will Google make available to the public with the Android Q final build and which all will be dropped.

The other feature of Android Q focusses on privacy. Let us know in the comments.

Some accessibility tweaks governing how long messages like heads-up notifications other actions appear for are also present, as well as a new "sensors off" Quick Settings tile which disables all radios, two new options for the screen lock setting, and options in the built-in files app to filter items by type.
