Sonos is rolling out the Google Assistant onto its Sonos One and Sonos Beam smart speakers next week.

In a letter to shareholders dated May 9, 2019, Sonos revealed it will roll out the feature in an update next week, starting with the USA market before expanding to others in the next few months. Sonos first announced that it was working with Google when it introduced the Sonos One speaker in late 2017.

Sonos has previously said that the ultimate aim is for Google Assistant to let you control every single one of the platform's supported music services, so we're keen to find out more about how its work in that area is progressing.

The Sonos One was recently updated with a second generation model, but as Sonos said "the original Sonos One will continue to be supported through regular updates", we're expecting Google Assistant to come to the original model as promised.

Sonos is pioneering new ground here, as it will be the first to offer both Alexa and the Google Assistant on the same speaker.

Russians may have leverage over Trump: Ex-FBI Director
Since his firing, Comey has been outspoken against Trump, once calling him " morally unfit to be president " in a 2018 interview. Steele had communicated some of his work compiling the anti-Trump document to State Department employees.

In a letter to shareholders regarding the Q2 results, Sonos stated that this new rollout will provide more options to their customers: "We think giving consumers choice is always the right decision, and we anticipate this philosophy will be adopted in the industry over time". Unfortunately, that roll out will begin in the USA before making its way to other markets.

This quarter we would like to highlight the much-anticipated launch of the Google Assistant on Sonos. But you won't be able to actually talk to your PLAYBAR using the Google Assistant.

The Swedish furniture giant is scheduled to launch 2 smart speakers powered by Sonos in August, which will be shown in its stores in a home-like setting. That will certainly up the appeal of the Sonos One and Beam.

Being able to purchase a single smart speaker and being able to use either Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant is going to be a big deal.
