Mitchell Marsh Called Up As Cover For Injured Marcus Stoinis

Hafeez says team is highly motivated after win against England

Australia cricket all-rounder Marcus Stoinis has been ruled out of their Cricket World Cup 2019 encounter against Pakistan because of a side strain.

"Factoring in a reserve day for every match at the World Cup would significantly increase the length of the tournament and practically, would be extremely complex to deliver", he said via an ICC statement.

They lost to New Zealand by 10 wickets in their opening match before sharing a point each with Pakistan from the rain-abandoned game in Bristol on June 7.

"Mitch has just come over a couple of days early if Stoin doesn't recover quick enough or doesn't respond to treatment well enough".

Pakistan were blanked 5-0 by Australia in the ODI series in the UAE but Sarfaraz believes that the outcome of that contest will have no bearing on Wednesday's game.

Despite struggling on a bilateral level, Pakistan reached the semifinals of the 2011 Cricket World Cup on the sub-continent and the quarterfinals four years ago in Australia.

Ortiz back in Boston, taken to local hospital

"And be really adaptable and that's one thing we've been really, really clear with the players that we want everyone to be adaptable and be ready to go at any situation". "So hopefully we'll do very well against them tomorrow", he said.

Stoinis sustained the injury during champions Australia's 36-run defeat by India at the Oval on Sunday. Both Pakistan and Sri Lanka had to settle for a point each.

"I think Finch and Warner are probably as good as any openers in the world", Ponting told Cricket.com. "But if the match is short, definitely the planning is a change one", he said.

Against India, Smith and Khawaja swapped positions and Ponting said it to mix up the left-right hand batsman against the spinners.

"It happens quite a lot in the modern game where you see that right-hand, left-hand combination, especially if they've got a lot of spin".

The temperature is going to vary from 11 to 14 degrees over the day.
