Sudanese say US pressure was key to reaching transition deal

Sudan's military leader welcomes power-sharing deal

The agreement between the Forces for Freedom and Change and the Transitional Military Council to establish a sovereign council is an important step forward.

Sudan's ruling military council and a coalition of opposition groups are expected to finalise a three-year power sharing agreement today.

News of the deal reportedly brought thousands of people onto the streets to celebrate and raised hopes that a peaceful transition of power can take place, following months of turmoil since December's civilian revolt began.

State Department officials declined to comment on USA efforts to broker the deal, saying only that Washington welcomes the agreement and commends the AU and Ethiopia for their mediation efforts. Sudan has been in turmoil since the removal of former president Omar al-Bashir on April 11 following months of civilian protests against his administration.

Lt. Gen. Abdel Fattah Burhan made his remarks in a meeting with Ugandan counterpart Yoweri Museveni in the Mbale district, east of Kampala, Uganda's capital, on Friday.

"We received a direct message from the White House: Facilitate a deal between the military and the protesters", one of the officials said. Mohamed Hamdan Daqlu on Saturday urged the Sudanese political forces and people to unite to achieve the country's stability and renaissance.

While the product page of the new Windows 1 .11 is live, the app will be available for download starting July 8. It started with a tweet that announced Windows 1.0 " with MS-Dos Executive, Clock, and more! " .

"The Americans demanded a deal as soon as possible".

Just last Sunday, there were nationwide demonstrations demanding the transfer of power to civilian hands, in which at least seven were reportedly killed, with more than 180 injured.

The agreement comes after a long standoff between the two sides since the suspension of talks in May.

As a reminder, the AU has suspended Sudan from its membership until a civilian led transitional authority is established.

As part of the power-sharing agreement, the two sides agreed on an independent Sudanese investigation into the deadly crackdown, but the details have yet to be worked out.
