USA's Alison Riske stuns No. 1 Ashleigh Barty at Wimbledon

Tennis star Ash Barty is sneaking Disney lyrics into press conferences

I have some really good memories from previous year.

Riske, 29, advances to her first career Grand Slam quarterfinal after picking up the upset victory.

It leaves the women's title wide open but Williams carries more than just talent onto the court despite her ageing legs she still appears to hold a fear factor over most of her opponents.

The Court 2 shock also ended Barty's 15-match winning streak and scuppered the 23-year-old's hopes of completing a rare French Open-Wimbledon title double.

"That's one of the best things about this trip", Barty said. Disappointed right now and obviously it's a tough pill to swallow. New ground for me here at Wimbledon.

A former world number one, Pliskova lost her round of 16 match against countrywoman, Karolina Muchova 6-4, 5-7, 11-13. "I had to take it to Ash", said Riske of the world No 1.

"There's just been a lot of good people here in London that have looked after me".

Between them, the "Big 3" faced just one break point on Monday and dropped a combined 19 games.

"Overall I didn't play a poor match".

On facing Serena Williams for a place in the last four, she said: "Bring it on!" "She played a great match today". "It will be an interesting match", added Riske. "I think when I'm doing that, my best tennis kind of comes from that". "I'm ready for a war".

Riske by name and risky by nature, the world No.55 bludgeoned 30 winners and committed only 15 unforced errors in recording her tour-best 14th grasscourt victory of the season.

Barty continues to give credit to her support team, exclusively using the term "we" when talking about her recent achievements.

UK's Labour party backs staying in European Union in call for second referendum
Labour will now back remaining in the European Union over leaving without a deal or supporting a Conservative-brokered deal. Johnson says Britain leaving on schedule, with or without a divorce deal with the European Union , is a "do or die" issue.

Barty set the early tone as she took the opening game with four successive aces, before a delightful sliced back-hand set up break-points as the Australian raced into a 4-1 lead. The 29-year-old was working her angles brilliantly as she ran Barty all around the court and was fearless enough to hit lines - a vast improvement on her opening set showing.

"I'm so proud of myself for the way I handled this match", Riske told ESPN. I wasn't missing serves by too much.

"The quarter-finals is unbelievable but the way that I've been fighting, that is what is most exciting for me". Pliskova came into the match ranked No. 3 in the world, while Muchova was No. 68.

"I don't mediate I'll ever imagine it to be handsome", she acknowledged. They're a little bit different. "It's going to be a huge challenge, but I'm really looking forward to it", she said.

"She's the greatest athlete I think that's ever been on the women's side".

The American also made special mention of Wimbledon Chairman Phil Brook for showing her respect even though she never really was a big name.

"I didn't win a tennis match".

"The sun's still going to come up tomorrow", she said.

"We've planned our days and prepared as best that we can".

"The most important results will be at the highest-level events such as the grand slams and the premier mandatory events", Kovalchik said.

In her match in opposition to Hercog, Gauff made a lovely comeback, winning 3-6, 7-6, 7-5 after going through two match factors.
